My connection to Palmerston North is through my Rangitane line which is the local maori people of the Manawatu region (tangatawhenua). I attended two local schools: Opiki and, for a short period of time, Westend primary. I come from a health background having built strong networks through out the Manawatu, Central Districts and nationally. I hold ten years experience working for Parliamentary Service where I was the representative to two Labour members of parliament, then appointed to the position of Parliamentary Service advisor to all members of Parliament and their staff. I managed a Social Service Agency and am currently Manager for a not for profit charity.
I have vast experience working alongside councils stretching over more than a 20 year period in my past roles as an advocate for clients on issues such as housing, environmental, education, rates, roading, emergency management and water. I have made submissions both written
and oral on implementation of council policy.
I have strong family values coming from an incredibly supportive family of eight. I have three children and five beautiful grandchildren. As a family we endurance horse ride, compete in marathons and iron man events, cycle, run and swim.
In all my roles past and present, I find it such an honour to support and serve my community.
